About Jake
Born in Tokyo, I am currently studying at a university in London. I am native in both Japanese and English, but also speak some Spanish too!
As a language enthusiast myself, I have always found that real conversations with native speakers are key to improving your confidence in the language. It also helps a lot with the pronunciations and intonations, which don't always sound natural in 'repeat after me' exercises in textbooks.
I am here to offer Japanese lessons through natural and engaging conversations for all levels. I am also very flexible about the lesson content, so I am happy to adapt the lessons to your specific needs, too!

Hello, I'm Jake. Born in Tokyo, I am currently a university student in London, England. As your Japanese tutor, I am here to help you bring your Japanese to the next level.
I enjoy learning new languages myself and one thing that I always wanted was someone native in that language I can speak with. Real conversations can be very different to the voices you hear in your textbook listening exercises. I am here to help you become more fluent and natural in your Japanese.
I understand that every person has a unique learning style. My multi-year experience in tutoring have equipped me with a flexible teaching approach, which allows me to tailor each lesson to your specific needs.
All levels are welcome - you might not speak a single word in Japanese, or you might be just wanting to keep up your already-fluent Japanese. Where ever you are in your journey, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

My hourly rate is £8.00.
I am happy to conduct lessons via online platform or at a central London cafe. For in-person lessons, I will also ask you to cover my travel cost.
