About Urmila
Hi!! I'm Urmila (but you can call me Ummie), a fresh SPM graduate with a passion for English, especially essay writing. I'm 18 years old.. yes I'm really young BUT this is one of my strengths as I can easily connect with my younger students. I am a friendly, energetic person who is still professional and I prioritize communicating and getting to know my students. To me, it's super important to know and understand your struggles, so I like to keep my class full of honest conversations.. which can help with your communication in English too! I'm good in Malay as well, so if you're afraid of not understanding much do not worry! The first lesson would be an introduction & assessment to understand the student's level. I would discuss with the students about their struggles and also have a brief writing test (short essay or paragraph). Second, I would familiarize the students with the essay formats by teaching them different types of essays and also break down the structure. I'd like to also add, with this I would also brainstorm ideas for essays to help with their creative thinking skills when it comes to writing! Making the studies more effective! Last but not least, grammar and sentence structure practice, to improve grammar, punctuation, and sentence flow, which is really important when it comes to SPM essay marking format!
