About Max

My name is Max, I am a student at Newcastle University and I have an intense passion for languages. I am an approachable and patient person who loves sharing my passion with others. Not being a native speaker of French allows me to understand exactly what the student is experiencing. In other words, I have been in their shoes. People often come to me to explain complex grammar concepts in French as I have a knack for making them easier to explain to people who are having difficulty understanding them. I have experience with the AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards for GCSE, and I have worked with the AQA A Level Specification, with knowledge on the set text "No et Moi" and the film "La Haine".

About the lesson

I ensure my sessions are tailored to each individual student, focusing on their personal weaknesses. In a language lesson, I will ask students whether they would like to focus on comprehension, grammar, or vocabulary. In an A Level or GCSE lesson, I ask students specifically which topics they would like to work on together, and then tailor lessons to focus on that topic whilst encompassing all three skills: reading, listening and writing. I am currently studying Modern Languages (French and Spanish), Translation and Interpreting at Newcastle University. I gained a Grade 9 in GCSE French and an A at A Level. I have lots of experience in tutoring languages, ranging from Year 10 and 11 students preparing for their GCSEs, through to Year 13 students studying towards their A Levels. I also have experience in teaching the French language to students who just wish to learn the language without pursuing qualifications in the subject.
