About Christine

I have always loved languages and travel, and that passion is at the heart of how I teach. I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature, speak fluent French and Spanish, and have lived and worked in both France and Spain.

I teach learners of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to GCSE and A-Level students, adults, professionals and those preparing for DELF and DELE qualifications. I also provide Business French and Spanish for people wanting to develop their language skills for work.

My lessons are always tailored to the individual. Some students come to me wanting excellent exam results, others want to feel more confident speaking, prepare for living or travelling abroad, or simply learn a language they've always wanted to speak.

I also have a Master's degree in Psychology, which influences the way I teach. I understand that learning a language can feel daunting, and building confidence is just as important to me as building language skills. My approach is warm, supportive and encouraging, while still challenging each student at the right level.

Every student receives personalised lessons and supporting vocabulary and learning materials to help them continue making progress between sessions.

I want my students to enjoy learning a language, feel confident using it and, most importantly, see themselves making real progress.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring privately since graduating from university, working with both adults and young people. I teach French and Spanish from complete beginner through to advanced level, including GCSE and A-Level students, DELF and DELE candidates, adult learners and professionals developing language skills for work, travel or relocation.

My lessons are fully tailored to each student. In our first session, I take time to understand your current ability, confidence and what you want to achieve. From there, I create a personalised approach that allows us to work at the right pace while continuing to make meaningful progress.

For GCSE and A-Level students, lessons are aligned to the relevant curriculum and exam requirements. We work across listening, speaking, reading and writing, alongside vocabulary, grammar and exam technique. I am familiar with current exam papers and marking requirements and use targeted practice and clear feedback to help students understand exactly how they can improve.

I have successfully supported GCSE students to achieve excellent results, including Grades 7 and 9, while also helping students who lacked confidence to make significant progress and feel much more positive about languages.

For DELF and DELE candidates, lessons combine language development with focused exam preparation. For adult and professional learners, sessions are shaped around individual goals and can focus on conversation, everyday language, travel and relocation, Business French or Spanish, or simply learning a language for personal enjoyment.

My Master's degree in Psychology also influences the way I teach. I understand that learning and speaking another language can feel daunting, and I place a strong emphasis on building confidence alongside language ability. My teaching style is warm, patient and encouraging, while still challenging students to achieve their potential.

Lessons are engaging and well structured, with a combination of speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar and translation as appropriate. I also provide personalised vocabulary and supporting materials after lessons so students can consolidate their learning between sessions.

I offer tuition online and face-to-face in Liverpool, with availability including after-school, evenings and weekends. Additional and intensive sessions are also available during exam periods.

My aim is simple: to help you make real progress, enjoy learning and develop the confidence to actually use your French or Spanish.
