About Mason
Hello, I'm Mason! I am a third year French Major at Grinnell College. I spent my last semester in Nantes, France where I learned how to speak and understand French. In Nantes, I spoke with new friends my age, older adults like my professors, and even the grandkids of my host family! In high school I volunteered at a local elementary school where I helped young students learn to read and write. I am a very positive and patient tutor that can answer all of your questions in a fun and engaging way! I hope to give other students the guidance and encouragement they need to progress in French as fast (and fun) as possible!

After living abroad, I have developed my speaking, reading, writing and oral comprehension skills to a high degree. Using these skills, I am able to teach the French language in all of its aspects. Typically, a lesson would consist of a conversational activity where the student is both listening and speaking. Secondly, I include reading and writing activities that students complete with my help (when needed). This plan can vary based on individual student needs and requests. While my French level is quite advanced, my previous experience assisting elementary teachers has given me a large patience and understanding of younger students. For the previously mentioned reasons, I am able to teach students of all ages (up to college level French).
