About Ben

I grew up spending my summers in France with my family and received my Brevet with highest honors in 9th grade.

My tutoring experience started in 10th grade when I transferred to the American school system, where French and math quickly became the two subjects I started helping my classmates with the most. I've always loved teaching, finding it fulfilling and fun, and love working with all types of people/learners.

Currently, I'm attending Texas A&M for a minor in French and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering

About the lesson

My lessons are for absolute beginners to intermediate French speakers alike and are tailored to whatever the student's goals are. Whether you can't introduce yourself or are studying for the AP test, I can teach you. I can work with kids as well, as long as they're already in middle school.
Unsure of where you'd like to start but are still eager to learn? That's also perfectly fine! I can always get you started

Sessions are 1-2 hours long, preferably in-person, since I believe it makes learning and teaching easier, but I can teach online if needed.

Typically, my lessons start off with a 5-minute overview of what we will be doing, and then we will move over to the exercises I prepared beforehand. These can be written, reading, pronunciation, or even just conversations. I love answering questions as well, and as the student you're always welcome to ask.
Also, bring a notebook or something to write in! I'm fine if you decide to use a computer (especially something like a surface pro,) I just think that it'll be easier to take notes on something that gives you the freedom of paper as opposed to plain text.

Finally, I can travel to either your home or we can have the lesson take place at a café. It's up to you!

Details

I don't charge extra for traveling, and during the first lesson, the first 30 minutes are free. After the 30 minutes are up, I will ask you if you'd like to continue with the lesson, at which point it can be prolonged up to an additional 90 minutes.
