About Josie

My relationship with French began as admiration for its musical rhythm and cultural richness. Over nine years of teaching, it has become my mission to share that passion with students and help them experience the language as a bridge between expression and understanding. Every class I teach reflects my belief that language connects us to art, people, and thought. I teach with patience, enthusiasm, and structure, guiding each student from basic grammar to confident fluency. My approach emphasizes conversation and real-life application, ensuring that learners feel capable from the very first lesson. I encourage curiosity and expression, helping each student find personal meaning in their learning journey. Outside of lessons, I immerse myself in French cinema, literature, and contemporary culture to stay current and inspired. Teaching French is one of my greatest joys—it allows me to celebrate diversity, communication, and creativity with every learner. Watching students grow from hesitant beginners to fluent speakers continues to fuel my passion for language education.

About the lesson

My French lessons are an invitation to experience a new world of culture, communication, and confidence. I believe language learning should feel alive—rooted in both structure and real-world interaction. Each class combines pronunciation practice, grammar instruction, and conversation-based learning, allowing students to build fluency naturally. The lessons are warm, engaging, and adapted to each learner’s pace and motivation.

Beginners start with pronunciation, basic vocabulary, and essential grammar, practicing through dialogue and repetition. Intermediate learners develop reading comprehension, listening skills, and idiomatic expression, while advanced students focus on fluency, essay writing, and cultural nuance. Authentic materials—songs, films, and short articles—are woven into lessons to make learning immersive and enjoyable.

The goal is to help students think in French and feel comfortable expressing themselves with ease. Lessons foster curiosity and confidence, allowing learners to use the language in daily life or academic settings. Many of my students have succeeded in exams, international travel, or professional communication, finding that fluency in French expands both opportunity and perspective.
