About Alix
Bonjour! I'm a bilingual French and English speaker, born and raised in France before moving to the UK at the age of 14. Having experienced both the French and British education systems, I understand the challenges students face when learning a language and can help them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.
I am currently studying Dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, alongside tutoring French, which has become a real passion of mine. For the past two years, I have worked with GCSE and A-Level students, supporting them through exams while helping them build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing French.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing my students grow in confidence and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. Whether it's improving a grade, mastering a difficult grammar topic, or feeling comfortable speaking French for the first time, I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of that journey.
As a native French speaker, I bring authentic language knowledge and cultural understanding to my lessons. I aim to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills at their own pace.
Outside of tutoring and university, I enjoy running, baking, getting coffee and hiking with friends. These interests help me bring energy, creativity, and patience to my teaching, making lessons both productive and enjoyable.

Hi, I'm a 22-year-old university student with over 2 years of experience tutoring French to students aged 15–18 studying for GCSEs and A-Levels.
My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. I specialise in developing speaking and listening skills, helping students build confidence and fluency in French through regular conversation practice and targeted exercises. I also provide extensive support with exam preparation, particularly for A-Level students, focusing on exam technique, grammar, vocabulary, and strategies to maximise marks. Lessons typically last between 1 and 1.5 hours
My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can improve their French skills, boost their confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
