About Joseph

Hi, I’m Joe, a medical student going from 3rd to 4th year at Imperial College London, with a strong passion for Maths and Science and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Having progressed through GCSE and A-level education before studying medicine, I understand the challenges students face when learning difficult concepts. I achieved 7 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s and an A in Additional Maths at GCSE, followed by A*AAA at A-level, giving me a strong academic foundation in Maths and Science.

I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and personalised, helping students build confidence and develop effective study techniques. My approach focuses on breaking down complex topics into manageable steps, improving understanding and developing strong exam technique. I work with students to identify areas for improvement and create lessons suited to their individual needs.

I provide supportive and structured tutoring for GCSE Maths and Science students (Physics, Biology and Chemistry), helping them work towards their target grades and reach their full potential.

My teaching approach is centred around exam practice and using past papers to guide revision, helping students become confident with both the content and the skills needed to succeed in exams.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is focused on making Maths and Science clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. As an Imperial College London medical student, I have developed strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of scientific concepts, which I use to help students build confidence and improve their academic performance.

I believe the best learning comes from understanding concepts rather than memorising methods. I break down challenging topics into simple steps, use clear explanations and encourage students to actively apply their knowledge through practice questions and exam-style problems. I also focus on exam technique, helping students understand mark schemes and develop strategies to maximise their marks. Most of my teaching style revolves around use of exam questions and past exam papers.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but can be adapted depending on the student’s goals and current level.

My lessons are aimed at GCSE students studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science. I support students of all abilities, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve their confidence, or achieve higher grades.
