Hello! I'm Betty, I'm a private tutor specialising in high school English (all levels) and Biology. I graduated in 2023 from the University of Sydney with Class 1 Honours in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Diagnostic Radiography). I dedicate my weekends to tutoring high school students while working part-time as a radiographer.

As of August 2024, I have over 1800 cumulative hours of experience tutoring 46 different students. I have experience tutoring English Advanced, English Standard, EALD, English Extension I, English Extension II, and Biology.

I tailor my teaching methods to suit students from diverse learning and social backgrounds. My tutoring approach centres on practice and feedback. The biggest improvements and best results I've cultivated come from my students who have the same drive to improve as I instil in them. I aim to be both a tutor and a mentor, offering guidance for life after high school. My background in radiography and diverse leadership experiences allow me to create a comfortable learning environment to support my students in becoming well-rounded individuals, while also helping with university and scholarship applications.

About the lesson

First and foremost, I believe in the importance of creating an amicable and friendly atmosphere between my student and I. I've had lots of experience with bad tutors while I was in high school, and most of it came from a stale, unenthusiastic outlook on the tutoring experience. I strive to create condensed, clear and informative diagrams, visual aids, and explanations for all subjects.
