About Fahmida

***Dissertation supervision and academic support from an experienced educator and researcher
I am a former university lecturer with over two years of teaching and 16 years of research experience. I have worked for several leading UK institutions, including Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Loughborough University, University College Cork and University of South Wales.

I have supervised 58 MSc dissertation projects so far and was nominated as the ‘Best Dissertation Supervisor’ last year.

***Areas of expertise
I specialise in designing, supervising, and reviewing research projects across a wide range of disciplines, including housing and urban planning; logistics and supply chain management; project and operations management; renewable energy; and transport planning and travel behaviour.

About the lesson

***How do I support students?
I offer comprehensive guidance at every stage of the dissertation journey, including:

a. developing and refining research objectives based on clear research gaps;
b. structuring dissertations using systematic frameworks, such as the Research Onion (Saunders et al., 2023);
c. selecting appropriate study designs and suitable research methods aligned with each objective;
d. conducting literature reviews, including systematic literature reviews;
e. designing primary data collection tools, such as semi-structured interview packs, online surveys, and case study protocols;
f. analysing data in Excel, SPSS, and STATA using quantitative, qualitative, and spatial methods; and
g. reviewing and proofreading dissertation chapters, assignments, journal articles, and reports.
