About Chase

As a dedicated and experienced educator, I bring both professionalism and passion to every tutoring session. I currently teach Statistics, Algebra, and College Prep, and previously served as a Teaching Assistant for an Accounting Analytics course at Virginia Tech. My foundation in finance, data analysis, and education is strengthened by my experience as a Division I athlete, where I balanced academics, athletics, and leadership. During that time, I also tutored fellow student-athletes—an experience that taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs and high-pressure environments. Beyond academics, I’m active in my church community, where I’ve led youth programs and volunteered with mentorship and outreach initiatives. I also founded and ran my own small business, which sharpened my communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. These diverse experiences have shaped me into a tutor who is not only knowledgeable but also reliable, disciplined, and deeply invested in helping others grow. My goal is to equip each student with the tools, confidence, and mindset to succeed—in the classroom and beyond.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I take a student-centered, supportive approach that focuses on clarity, confidence, and real-world application. I specialize in Statistics, Algebra, and College Prep, and my teaching style is all about breaking complex topics into simple, relatable steps. I use real-life examples, guided problem-solving, and consistent check-ins to make sure students not only understand the material but feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with it. Each session is structured but flexible—typically starting with a quick review, followed by a focused lesson, hands-on practice, and a recap to reinforce key concepts.

What sets me apart is my background as a former Teaching Assistant for an Accounting Analytics course at Virginia Tech, along with my current experience teaching high school-level math courses. I work with a wide range of students, from high schoolers preparing for college entrance exams to college students tackling tough math and finance classes. My goal is to not just help students succeed in the classroom but to build skills they can use beyond it.
