About Ismat

I read PPE at the LSE, where I learned to build and test arguments rigorously. I went on to serve as speechwriter to the former Minister of Economy. I am now a MBB consultant.

Outside my professional roles, I served as Chairperson of UKEC, a position that meant regularly addressing large audiences and representing the organization publicly.

Together, these roles cover the three skills I teach: strategic thinking (consulting), speechwriting (government), and oratory (UKEC).

About the lesson

Good communication is clear thinking. My lessons move through three connected layers:

1. Strategic thinking: Defining your objective, understanding your audience, and deciding what your message needs to achieve before you write a word.

2. Speechwriting: Structuring arguments, crafting a strong opening and close, and writing for the ear rather than the page.

3. Oratory and delivery: Voice, pacing, pausing, presence, and handling nerves and questions.

Lessons are practical and feedback-driven. You’ll work on your own material, such as a pitch, a presentation, or a speech, and we refine it together. I also use short drills, live practice, and recorded run-throughs, so you can see exactly what to improve and then apply it straight away.

My lessons suit students aged 16+, university students, and working professionals at any level, from those nervous about speaking in public to experienced presenters who want to sharpen their craft.

They’re especially useful for anyone preparing for interviews, pitches, debates, competitions, leadership roles, or high-stakes presentations. Each program is tailored to your starting point and goals.
