About Maddy
About me: I have played academy & professional football at the highest level for over 10 years. I
first joined MK Dons when I was 8 years old, after spending 3 years there I played for Arsenal for 6
years, up until u21s level, when I then joined Birmingham City for 3 years. During this time, I have
represented my county at youth age groups at a European championship and have played under
some of the best youth coaches in the country.
During my time at Birmingham City I was able to make the step to senior football, training in the
professional environment on a regular basis, playing alongside some world-class players, and
learning every day.
I have got work experience working within the disability team at England having coached with both
the women’s deaf squad, and most recently helping out at the women’s blind camps, ahead of their
world games series.
After sustaining a serious injury at 16 I took an interest in coaching for the 7 months I was out for,
and fell in love with it. From then on I have dedicated my time to completing my badges, alongside
playing at step 3.
After stepping away from playing, I decided to commit full time to working within the women’s elite
game, helping to develop young and talented girls succeed at their dream.
My role at MK Dons was the head goalkeeping coach across the women’s & academy set up, working
across all age groups (u10s- seniors). This included being part of the Women’s MDT team, where the
team played and competed in National League South.
Additionally I have been part of the Women’s academy coaching staff at Arsenal. In this role I took
the training and match days of the PGA squads (u14,u16,u21s). My main responsibility was to
prepare the u14 goalkeepers for PGA football, and to help them individually develop their game,
whilst still prioritising highlighted fast track players.
I have also worked alongside the FA whilst at Milton Keynes, where I was the emerging talent centre
manager. This programme, much like the PGA set up is in place to highlight, develop, and showcase
the talent of local young female players, giving them the right tools and resources to be able to
reach their top potential and thrive in a professional environment. I was responsible for staff
recruitment and training, budget management, coordinating Talent ID projects and overseeing the
overall quality assurance of the girls ETC programme.
I would love to continue to work within the women’s game, and get all my badges up to my pro
licence. Although I may be young, I am extremely experienced within the women’s game, having
grown up coming through the pathway and I know what it takes to be a top professional
