About Monty
I have a Master's degree in mathematics and I taught 17 semesters of college algebra at Oklahoma State University between Fall 2016 and Spring 2025. I know this course inside and out. I'm good at identifying students' misunderstandings and finding ways of explaining things that match your way of thinking.

Every student's needs are different. During our introductory session, we'll make a plan, then we'll adjust as we go. We'll be strategic with the way we spend time together. I will encourage you to use OKState's free resources for routine help with your homework. Our sessions should focus on concepts you're struggling with, preparation for exams, and any issues that might hinder your success in the class.
Can I guarantee that with my help, you'll pass this class?
There are no shortcuts to passing college algebra at OSU. Your success depends on the effort you're able to put into the class. I can only guarantee that I will give you excellent advice based on years of teaching experience, and that I'll try my hardest to support your learning journey. The actual learning is entirely up to you.
You must be able to perform algebra during exams in order to pass (or ace) this class! Many students fall into the trap of getting “too much” help completing assignments for points, and fail to engage properly with the material. As an experienced private tutor, I will catch and correct gaps in your understanding and help ensure your homework time is adequately preparing you for exams.
