About Justen
I have tutored K-12 for 3 years, taught a total of 7 college math classes, and taught one graduate-level math class. In addition to teaching, I'm passionate about research and applying learning. While a mathematician, I currently research high performance computing, cardiology, as well as math at Duke University (I'm remote and live in Colorado). I have a Ph.D. in Biomathematics and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics (4.0/4.0) from NC State. I completed my postdoctoral training at Duke University in Biomedical Engineering, and am now a research scientist there.

I find that relating mathematics to real-world applications empowers students, and I love teaching not only math material but also how it's used "in the real world". I'm engaging, knowledgeable, and patient. I have experience working with all skill levels, having tutored K-12 while in high school, and teaching college and a graduate course while completing my Ph.D. Additionally, I was an Adjunct Professor at the School of Mines for a semester when we moved to Colorado. I'm happy to tutor K-12, and am also comfortable tutoring college and graduate-level mathematics.
