About Jonathan
Hi, my name is Jono! I graduated from Villanova University with a double major in Finance and Management Information Systems and a minor in Analytics. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring math to children from kindergarten to 12th grade. In high school, I was a teaching aid for a middle school summer math program at the University of Washington, helping gifted middle school students get a grade ahead in their curriculum. Recently, I worked at Mathnasium creating customized learning plans for students and providing progress report updates for parents based on these lesson plans. Outside of my ongoing passion for tutoring, I currently work as a data scientist for an insurance company. I enjoy cooking, hiking, running, and playing Ultimate Frisbee in my free time. And when I can, I like to travel the United States to see the unique flare each city/state has.

I believe every student has the potential to excel in their math curriculum; however, every child is different and sometimes, the methods taught in schools are difficult to understand for certain students. There are multiple different ways to solve any math problem, and each child will latch onto a different method to understand the problem. When a child finds the method that works for them, I’ve witnessed that their self-confidence to solve more difficult math problems grows.
As a math tutor, I will find the method that works for each child and create a customized plan that works for them. I will work with each student at the pace they are comfortable with. Additionally, I incorporate games and different activities (when appropriate) into the session to make the lessons more fun and interactive.
