About Shasta
As a practicing attorney, my first 10 years were working for the State of Idaho as a Deputy Attorney General dealing with primarily natural resource issues, then as a civil litigator, and finally, for the state's professional licensing boards. I subsequently served four years as the Idaho State Board of Medicine's general counsel. I then spent three years as a full-time visiting professor at Concordia and University of Idaho colleges of law. Since 2022, wanting to continue to serve higher education in our state, I have worked in the Compliance and Ethics Office at Boise State University, where I am Deputy Director of Compliance.

I am a lawyer licensed in Idaho and Montana who has practiced law for the past 18 years. I have also taught law school courses as a full-time visiting law professor and as an adjunct for over 14 years at two different, accredited law schools.
I have routinely received positive feedback about my teaching, in particular, my real-world examples that illustrate the reasons behind the doctrine. I teach to where my students are in their knowledge base, and customize my lessons to the areas that are creating the most difficulty for my students.
I am also an experienced legal writing professor and am able to provide exercises and assessments for students who are interested in becoming better legal writers.
Finally, I am very adept and comfortable teaching via Zoom and promise an engaging, effective tutoring experience.
