About Alexander
I'm a former head chorister and music scholar, with ABRSM diplomas in piano and clarinet performance (with distinction). I also have grade 5 in music theory. Now studying History, Politics and Economics at UCL, I have over a year of experience in piano teaching to individuals of all ages. I'm very self-motivated and driven, always happy to help and learn with my students! I love teaching because it allows me to share my passion for music and the piano, having treated it as a best friend my whole life.

Since passing my ABRSM diploma with distinction two years ago, I have had over a year of experience teaching, mostly with kids and beginners. Having grown up being taught by vigorous Russian teachers, I am very focused on prioritising developing technique and playing style over rushing through grades. All of my students have had a 100% success rate in passing graded exams too. A typical lesson could range anywhere between 30 mins-2 hours, and my lessons are for everyone regardless of age or ability. I would prefer to travel for my lessons. I'm able to teach in English, German and Russian.

Alex really helped improve my confidence when it comes to learning new pieces! When I started piano I was really apprehensive about whether I’d be good enough and Alex was really encouraging and supportive throughout the entire process. His commitment to helping me improve is one of the reasons I now love playing the piano so much!
Alex is a great pianist and teacher, I would highly recommend!
Alexander was really great when I was trying to pass my Grade 1 piano exam. He was patient, thoughtful and dedicated during lessons. I would have absolutely no hand eye coordination, and Alexander would correct my hand placement, giving tips for specific lines and teaching me how to play the piano over just memorising the songs for the exam. For lesson timings, he was flexible and very responsive, which allowed me to practice even more.
Alexander is a very talented young clarinet player, who is passionate about music and is willing to pass on his passion to pupils. Alexander was a principal clarinetist in Eton college and is now holding the same position in the symphony orchestra at UCL. His enthusiastic and energetic approach will bring the best in his tutees and will aspire them to achieve new hights on their musical journey!
Alexander is also very attentive and engaging with children and adults, his gentle nature and a good sense of humour will create an atmosphere of trust and fun teaching environment during lessons.
I can highly recommend Alexander as a clarinet teacher for beginner and intermediate level players!Alexander is a devoted musician, having studied clarinet (and piano) from an early age with active support from muscial parents. Orchestral or solo, jazz or chamber works, he has experience in a very wide range of styles. He possesses the gentle tact, patience and people skills that are so important in providing tuition for early- and intermediate-stage pupils.
Alexander was an absolutely wonderful piano tutor. He was extremely thorough in his approach and was able to answer all my questions in-depth. He was always punctual and a great communicator, and he really helped me improve my piano skills! I couldn’t recommend him enough.
