About Emily
I have worked in a top City law firm for 4 years and have recently decided to retrain as a teacher. I truly believe in the transformative power of education and that with enough attention and patience every student can achieve their goals.
I graduated from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 BSc in English and Psychology, after achieving top grades at A-Level and GCSE.
I have previous work experience with children aged 6 to 16, including differentiating lesson plans and marking practice exam papers.

I take a structured approach to tutoring, setting out from the beginning what I expect from my student and what my student can expect from me. Together with the student, I identify what they hope to gain from my tutoring and we set out a clear plan on how we can achieve that. My hope is that through collaboration the student feels empowered to learn.
My lessons are engaging and challenging, the aim is to help each student become the best independent learner they can.
