My teaching approach is learner-centred, structured, and responsive to individual needs. I believe in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and build their understanding over time. I use a blend of direct instruction, questioning, and guided practice. Lessons are tailored using formative assessment to target gaps in knowledge and develop key skills. I integrate active learning techniques such as retrieval practice, problem-solving tasks, and scaffolding to ensure deep understanding. Where appropriate, I incorporate visual aids, simulations, and real-life applications to enhance engagement—especially in Science and Chemistry. A typical session lasts 60 minutes, beginning with a brief review of prior learning, followed by a focused teaching segment, interactive tasks, and a summary or quiz to consolidate understanding. I tutor secondary school and sixth form students, typically aged 11–18, with a focus on GCSE and A-level Science/Chemistry. I also support undergraduates and mature learners in foundational science topics.
