About Remy
I am currently in my first year of a Bachelor of Science and Master of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Sydney, where I am studying advanced classes in Math and Biology. I have been tutoring my peers for 2 years, throughout which I have gained an understanding of how to shape my teaching style around the student and their needs. My experience teaching younger classes in my school's cadet unit helped me learn how to manage and connect with many different types of children. I achieved an ATAR of 96.30, earning a Band 6 or equivalent in accelerated Math Advanced, Math Extension 1 and Drama.

My goal as a tutor is not to teach a student everything from scratch, or to bombard them with problems even I can't solve. Instead, I aim to work alongside the student and address any weak areas or topics of confusion within their learning. The strongest and most misunderstood study tool is the practice exam paper, which with proper strategy and targeting is easily the fastest way to increase understanding and pinpoint common questions. As your student's tutor, I would use past exam questions to spot weaknesses in certain topics, and a majority of the lesson's time would be dedicated to improving understanding in this topic. I have come to learn that bored study is almost as useless as no study, so my primary goal as a tutor is to build interest in the topics covered and encourage individual study and research between lessons.
