About Benedict
I am a flute tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, having taught over 150 students successfully. I focus on making every lesson enjoyable, interactive, and productive. My teaching emphasises breath control, tone quality, finger technique, and rhythm while fostering creativity, improvisation, and personal expression. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, abilities, and goals, helping them progress confidently and effectively.
I also incorporate sight-reading, music theory, and performance preparation to ensure a holistic approach to learning. My aim is to inspire students to play with skill, confidence, and passion while developing a lifelong appreciation for music.

I teach flute with a methodology that emphasises adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. Understanding each student’s learning style allows me to customise lessons that maximise progress and engagement. I focus on making lessons enjoyable while challenging students to reach their full potential.
Flexibility is essential in my approach. I modify exercises, repertoire, and practice schedules to align with each student’s goals, progress, and interests. Collaboration is central: I incorporate duets, group exercises, and performance simulations to strengthen ensemble skills, timing, and confidence. Positivity creates a supportive atmosphere where students feel encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate achievements.
Alongside flute instruction, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and rhythm exercises. My methodology balances technical development with creative expression, helping students become skilled, expressive, and confident musicians with a deep passion for music.
