I don't believe in strict method such as learning by heart what is in a book. I start by analysing what the kid is comfortable with and his/her personality. And then I adapt depending on if they prefer chatting or expressing themselves by art or sound or animated images. This is how I introduce French vocabulary. Then the grammar comes naturally . When it comes to grammar I use the old method not the global method. Ex: o+u= the sound ou or a+u= the sound O etc...
