About Umayma

Hi! My name is Umayma, and I am a first-year student at the University of Calgary pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting. I have always enjoyed working with students and am passionate about helping younger learners build confidence and achieve success in their academic journeys. Math has always been my favorite subject, and I love helping students not only understand it but also develop a genuine appreciation for it. Whether a student needs help mastering the basics or preparing for an important exam, I strive to make learning engaging, encouraging, and enjoyable.
I am friendly, patient, and approachable, so there's no need to worry about having a strict or intimidating tutor. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated to reach their full potential. I look forward to helping each student grow academically, build lasting confidence in their abilities, and make learning a rewarding experience.

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Umayma, and I am a tutor based in Calgary, Alberta. I offer tutoring sessions both in person (at my home) and online through Zoom or Google Meet.

I provide tutoring for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in Math and Science. I also offer support with Diploma Exams, PATs, unit tests, midterms, quizzes, homework, assignments, and general exam preparation. My goal as a tutor is to help students build a strong understanding of the concepts they are learning in school. I teach at each student's individual pace and skill level, reinforcing the strategies and problem-solving techniques they are taught in class rather than introducing completely different methods. This helps students gain confidence and succeed in their coursework. Tutoring sessions are 1 hour long, and I am available 7 days a week to accommodate a variety of schedules. I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals, and I look forward to working with you!
