About Sharleen
For my GCSE's I achieved 12 A*s (eight 9s, two 8s and two A*s) and for my A Levels I achieved A*AA in History, Spanish and Mathematics, despite being disadvantaged by the algorithm of 2020.
I have only attended state comprehensive schools and taught myself all my revision and learning techniques; I believe I have a strong understanding of memory and concentration that would allow me to teach students and uplift them to their highest academic potential.

My lessons are personalised to the individual student and their needs. I use spaced repetition as well as visual, auditory and kinetic techniques to create a well rounded learning experience.
My experience includes tutoring an A level history student who joined late into the course and helping her achieve an A grade by the end of the year. I have given Personal Statement advice to Oxbridge applicants, this includes on a number of outreach programmes.

As an Au Pair in Spain I taught English and planned daily lessons. I am therefore accustomed to language teaching and planning lessons that are highly exciting and engaging. You can find the experience of one of my host parents here:

Having achieved all my grades with undiagnosed ADHD (I only recently obtained the diagnosis), I believe I have unique insight into working with students who require alternative ways of encountering academic material, outside of mundane memorisation and copying. Learning should be interactive, insightful, enjoyable and personalised.
