About Maya
I am currently studying BSc Accountancy at the University of Nottingham. Accountancy has always interested me primarily due to my love for Mathematics, but also the relevance it has in society and how it constantly evolves with the development of technology. My passion for Maths helped me to achieve an A* at A-Level and a grade 9 at GCSE and my enjoyment of the subject led to my selection as a Maths Mentor for year 11 students. I received positive feedback as I was able to deliver focussed sessions for students, tailoring explanations to ensure they fully understood the content.
One of the key attributes of a good tutor is the ability to understand a flexible approach is essential to achieve good results and through tutoring in secondary school I developed this skill. My patient and approachable nature will provide a comfortable and fun environment for you to grasp the key tools, such as exam technique and memory retention to help you to succeed.

Having recently been through the exam process, I understand the challenges and struggles that students face and can offer tips and guidance to help deal with these whilst also sharing resources that assisted me in getting my grades. I can advise on how to maintain resilience and determination in the lead-up to the exam period which can be daunting.
So for a structured, tailored yet flexible way to improve your understanding of Maths, get in touch with me. I will take time to understand your goals and provide support and advice on how to overcome difficulties and prepare for exams.
My lessons would each be an hour-long consisting of teaching theory, practice questions, practice exam papers and interactive activities. My lessons would be for GCSE or A-Level students in Maths to Chemistry.
