About Hansika
I'm Hansika, a First Class BSc (Hons) Neuroscience graduate from the University of Manchester, where I also co-authored peer-reviewed published research.
I've been tutoring for three years, teaching Maths and Sciences across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, both privately and at tuition centres. I currently teach Maths one-to-one with a specialist education provider, and throughout my degree I supported neurodivergent and SEN students, so I'm experienced at adapting my teaching to each student's needs.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and I'm reliable, punctual and committed to keeping parents updated on their child's progress.
Understanding how the brain learns is my field, and I bring that into every lesson. My aim is for students to leave each session more confident and genuinely understanding the material, not just memorising steps.

My Science lessons are for KS3 and GCSE students (ages 11–16), covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics for both Combined and Triple Science, whether students are struggling with the basics or aiming for top grades.
I start with a short diagnostic to find the gaps, then build understanding step by step. I explain why things happen rather than asking students to memorise facts, then reinforce it with diagrams, worked examples and past paper questions. I focus on where marks are usually lost: calculations, required practicals and six-mark extended answers.
As a First Class Neuroscience graduate, I bring real depth to the subject, and with three years of tutoring experience, I adapt my teaching for SEN and neurodivergent students so every student can follow at their own pace.
Lessons are 60 minutes as standard, with 90 or 120-minute revision sessions available, at your home across Oldham, Tameside and Manchester or online anywhere in the UK.

Hansika tutored me in GCSE Maths (Edexcel) and really helped me get to grips with topics I used to struggle with, especially surds and quadratic equations. Before lessons I'd hesitate a lot when attempting questions, but she helped me feel a lot more at ease with just having a go, and I felt like I could actually score better because of it — which showed when I got an 8. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and doesn't rush, so I could ask questions without feeling behind. Would definitely recommend her if you want a tutor who's patient and actually checks you understand something before moving on.
Hansika taught me GCSE Maths and Science and honestly she helped me so much more than just with grades. I used to be really underconfident with both subjects but she was so encouraging, especially on days I wanted to just give up on something. She'd give me practice questions straight after we covered a topic which made it actually stick instead of forgetting it. She explains things slow enough that you actually get it but doesn't waste time either, so lessons never felt like they dragged. She's just really patient and actually adjusts to how you learn, not just sticking to one way of teaching everything.
