About Gabriel

I'm a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate, where I achieved First Class Honours. During my degree, I developed a deep appreciation for breaking down complex problems into clear, logical steps, something I now bring to my tutoring. I studied A Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics myself, so I understand the challenges students face with these subjects and the pressure of performing well in exams. Having worked with a brilliant maths tutor during my own A Levels, I experienced firsthand how the right guidance can unlock understanding and completely shift your confidence in a subject. Since graduating, I've been tutoring GCSE and A Level students, both in person and online. I genuinely enjoy teaching, there's something really rewarding about watching someone go from confusion to that "aha" moment when everything clicks. I'm based in Heaton, Newcastle and I'm happy to teach locally or via Zoom to fit around your schedule.

About the lesson

I believe the best learning happens when students feel comfortable asking questions and working at their own pace. Having benefited from great tutors myself during my A Levels, I understand how the right support can completely transform someone's confidence and performance in maths and physics. My approach is straightforward: I focus on building genuine understanding rather than just memorising formulae, break down complex concepts into manageable steps and work through problems together while adapting to each student's learning pace and individual needs - with the goal of either helping build on struggling subjects or specific topics, or aiming to push for exceptional grades. Lessons typically run for 1-2 hours and cover GCSE or A Level Maths, Physics & STEM subjects. I've tutored students both in person and via Zoom, so I'm comfortable with either format. With a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and recent experience teaching in A Level Maths and Physics, the content is fresh and I'm familiar with current exam structures and requirements. Sessions are relaxed but focused, my goal is to help develop genuine enjoyment in cracking a problem while building the confidence to tackle problems independently.
