About Oytun
I’m a full-time maths tutor with a First-Class degree in Mathematics and teacher training from the University of Oxford. With 10+ years of experience, I help students build confidence, develop a strong understanding in maths and achieve their full potential. The majority of my students achieve Grade 9 at GCSE level and A* at A-level.
I specialise in tutoring KS2, GCSE and A-level maths, working with students of all ages and abilities. I tutor students across North East London - lessons would take place at your home (within a 10 mile radius) or online, whichever would suit you best.

I have a friendly and patient tutoring style that prioritises building students’ confidence and enthusiasm for maths. I focus on developing a strong fundamental understanding in students, making core topics such as algebra easier to remember and apply. I also use real-life examples to make maths lessons more engaging for students, I find they enjoy the lessons much more when they understand why maths is important.
Typically, our first lesson involves working through a past paper to assess their strengths and weaknesses. From this assessment, I create a personalised revision plan designed to address any gaps in understanding and support the student’s academic goals. School reports, previous exam results and exam board specifications also inform the revision plan. Topic areas that will have the greatest impact on the student’s progress are the main focus of each lesson, together with regular past paper practice and tailored homework after each lesson.
