About Asma

I hold a First Class Honors BSc in Mathematics & Economics from the University of London and an MSc in Mathematics Education from the University of Colombo. I also hold a Licentiate of Trinity College London with Distinction — a recognized qualification in communication and presentation that directly informs how I explain complex ideas clearly and engagingly.
I have over 6 years of teaching experience across secondary and university levels, including roles as Head of Academics at Study360, Visiting Lecturer at Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, and lecturer positions at multiple institutions across Sri Lanka. I don't just tutor on the side — teaching is my full-time profession.
My students have consistently improved their grades and exam confidence across CIE, Edexcel, and university-level programs. I take a small number of private students at a time to ensure every learner gets the attention and consistency they deserve.

About the lesson

My approach is simple: I diagnose before I teach. Every student has a different gap, and I find it before moving forward. I use guided questioning rather than straight lecturing — I'd rather lead you to an answer than hand it to you, because that's what builds real exam confidence.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of the previous session, moves into the new concept or topic with worked examples and questions, then gives you time to practise independently while I observe. I'll always end with clear guidance on what to consolidate before we meet again.
What sets me apart is that my MSc is specifically in Mathematics Education — not just Mathematics. I've studied how students learn this subject, not just the subject itself. Combined with 6+ years teaching across schools, colleges, and universities, I understand what examiners expect at every level.
My lessons are for O-Level and A-Level students preparing for CIE, Edexcel, or equivalent examinations, and undergraduate students studying Mathematics or Statistics. I'm experienced working with international students across different time zones and syllabi.
