About Ben

My name is Ben Rossiter, a first year university student at the University of Leeds, studying International History and Politics. Previously, I attended Haberdashers' Boys' School, Independent School of the Year 2025, where I achieved A*, A*, A in my A-Levels, in Politics, Religious Studies and History respectively. I have a passion for all three of these subjects and genuinely enjoy learning and teaching as I find it rewarding to help others in the same way I was helped during my secondary education. I am a confident, determined teacher who uses a variety of methods to ensure my students' needs are tailored to, dependent on what grade they are aiming to achieve. About the lesson

I am willing to aid any A-Level Politics student in any different exam board, focusing on essay structure, AO1 expansion, how to embed this into essays and trigger sentences that guarantee the AO2 and AO3 marks. Receiving an A* grade on all three of my papers in the 2025 exams, I believe I am well placed to guide those currently taking Politics, whatever their level may be. As well as focusing on individual essays, I have access to a wide range of A* level essay plans and full essays that were not asked in my exam but could come up in the future. Having access to these answers allows for tailored sessions for your child, in which we can focus on how different wording changes what markers are asking of you and what is required to guarantee AO3 (evaluation) marks. I believe it is most useful to have sessions of an hour, though an hour and a half can be accommodated. I ask students to complete 1/2 essays in the break between lessons (this is usually a week), which they send to me before each lesson and I mark, providing detailed feedback on which areas the student is excelling in and other areas where improvements must be made. This allows the student to have more personal feedback that cannot be achieved in a class of 15+, as often as it needs to be, to achieve top grades. As well as achieving an A* at A-Level, I am currently undertaking a degree in International History and Politics and am on track to receive a First-Class Honours.
