About Jasmine
I aim to make academic work feel more manageable and predictable, especially under exam conditions. A lot of students struggle not because they lack knowledge, but because they’re unsure how to turn that knowledge into a structured, high-scoring answer. I focus on building confidence in writing and familiarity with what examination boards are actually looking for, as opposed to cramming unnecessary knowledge.
In lessons, I work through examples step by step so students can see what a strong answer actually looks like, then support them as they practise it themselves. Over time, the goal is that they can approach questions with a clear method rather than uncertainty.
I place a strong emphasis on exam expectations, mark schemes, and clarity of expression, so students know exactly what they are aiming for and how to improve their work in a practical way.
Students are encouraged to ask questions freely and make mistakes during sessions, because that is usually where the most progress happens.

I focus on helping students understand the material properly and learn how to apply it in exams and essays, with a strong emphasis on breaking down mark schemes and teaching how to reach the higher grade boundaries. I adapt each session to what the student actually needs help with, whether that’s subject knowledge, essay structure, or exam technique.
In History, English, and Classics, I usually work through questions or texts with the student, showing how to plan and build a strong answer, then getting them to try it themselves with guidance. I also go through mark schemes so they understand what examiners are looking for and how to pick up marks more consistently.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes long, though this can be adjusted if needed. A typical session includes a short review of previous work, going through a new topic or skill, and then practising questions together.
I have a First-Class Honours degree in Ancient History from the University of Bristol, and I’m currently training to be a history teacher. Alongside my degree, I’ve studied how to teach and have spent time in classroom settings, which has helped me understand how students learn and where they often get stuck.
I teach GCSE and A-Level students, mainly aged 14 to 18, in History, English Literature, Classics, and essay writing.
