About Henry
I'm a history graduate from the University of Durham, achieving First Class in the final year of my degree. My interest in history spreads all the way from the Vikings to the American Civil War, so I am always prepared to teach a range of topics! Having studied history for a long time, I am aware of what students need to do in order to achieve the grades they deserve. To that end, I combine my own experiences of studying history with the current academic requirements in place for students to succeed.

Like any good teacher, my aim is to make these lessons both enjoyable and rewarding at the same time. I typically start by getting to know the student, their writing style, things they enjoy about history, and things they want to improve at. History is a subject best taught using multiple resources. To that end, I employ videos, reading and writing exercises, and interactive activities to help pique students' interests. Most importantly, I offer real-time feedback on work that students submit. This is central to my teaching as it provides students with the best opportunities to progress. Having taken part in TeachFirst's online teaching courses, I have a professional background in teaching. I enjoy teaching history students at every level, whether they are sitting their A-Levels or just getting started! I aim to get as much out of these sessions as my students do, which is why I offer a high-quality teaching experience.
