About Ella
I'm Ella, I have studied English at GCSE (gaining an 8 in literature and language) and A-Level (gaining an A in English Literature), studying; 'An Inspector Call's', 'A Christmas Carol', 'Macbeth', '1984', 'Hamlet', 'The Merchant's Tale', 'A Doll's House', 'The Handmaid's Tale', 'Jerusalem', 'A Clockwork Orange', and various poetry.
I have always loved English Literature, and am excited to dive into whatever novels/texts you are studying and support you in whatever way is needed.
I am currently studying History at University, allowing me to further my written skills, and help my students by continually developing my knowledge.

I know that everyone learns in different ways, and has different approaches to revision and studying. I am always keen to adapt to whatever suits my students study habits, and if you don't currently have any, we can find which way(s) work for you!
I base my teaching methods off of the individual, working to find the methods that best suit them.
My personal strength lies in visual methods of learning (timelines, mindmaps, informational sheets...) and also consolidating information through blurting, essay plans and practice.
I endeavour to break down exams and their components to create a clear structure and a less stressful approach to learning.
The structure of lessons will be as follows:
- The first lesson will last 45 minutes, involving getting a sense of how the student learns and what they wish to achieve from tutoring. This will allow me to better tailor my lessons to them, and get a better understanding of where they are at academically.
- All subsequent lessons will last between 1 hour.
