I am a freelance writer and editor offering private English Literature tuition in Bristol, with experience giving volunteer tuition to students with English as an additional language. I have a strong interest in poetry, and all kinds of literature from Chaucer to Sally Rooney.

I am offering tutorials to GCSE and A-Level pupils who want a little more in-depth tuition to boost their grades. I believe a combination of strong exam technique and real engagement with the text produces the best results. In order to write persuasively and contribute to classroom discussions, you have to really know the text, and see its importance in the wider world. Literature isn't about the books so much as what they tell us about ourselves and the world around us, and my teaching comes from a place of real passion. I am patient, calm, and friendly, always looking for ways to engage my students in meaningful ways. And with an A* in GCSE English, and A* in A-Level English, and a 1st Class degree in Literature from Bristol University, I know how it's done.
