About Lola
Hi, I’m Lola — a First-Class graduate in English Literature and History with real experience tutoring both primary (Year 5) and secondary (Year 11 GCSE) students.
I work in the film industry. Storytelling, analysis, and critical thinking are at the heart of my job, and I love bringing that same passion into teaching. I love what the humanities have to say about the world, and I would love to show the students I teach that same level of enthusiasm! My teaching style is holistic and flexible: I adapt to each pupil’s needs, whether that means exam-focused practice, essay-structuring strategies, or creative approaches that make learning fun. I believe when students enjoy the process, the results naturally follow.

I'm happy to teach students up to university level. I think confidence building is the most important aspect of teaching, and allowing students to believe in their own ideas and skill set. I went to a particularly academically rigorous university, and use a lot of those skills in my day to day job - I want to help develop students' critical thinking skills and hone in on whatever English-based skills required. I want to work with the student, and develop lesson plans that suit their style of learning the best. I have experience in GCSE prep & am happy to do 30 min or 1hr lessons.
