About Mia
I have always enjoyed working with young people and have supported learning in schools on multiple occasions. I regularly volunteered as a teaching assistant to a French teacher in a local primary school, and also participated in an exchange program which involved teaching in a school in Brussels for a week. In addition to this, I have maintained strong links to my secondary school, where I have visited and presented information to encourage and demystify oxbridge applications. I also mentored and academically supported some students here with A level and GCSE work, enabling them to grow in confidence and catch up to their peers. I have provided family friends applying to Oxford and Cambridge with personal statement advice and interview tips, advising them on the best ways to make a successful application based on my own experience.

I am a recent first-class graduate of King's College, Cambridge. I studied French and ab-initio Italian, with a focus on French in my final year. Inspiring young people to study languages, particularly students from diverse backgrounds, is something which I am incredibly passionate about, since I believe this degree path provides the opportunity to study so many rich and interesting aspects of culture. My teaching approach is holistic and engaging, as I work to build confidence in my students through tailored approaches to their strengths and weaknesses. By finding ways to link language learning to a student's existing passions, I believe it's possible to make learning fun and effective!
