About Freya
Hi! I’m a 9th-grade student and the first chair clarinet at my high school. I’ve been playing clarinet for about half my life and have been in the school band since 7th grade. As a freshman, I earned a spot in Honors Band.
I work especially well with beginner and intermediate students. I understand how challenging it can feel when you’re first learning or trying to move past the basics, and I focus on making lessons clear, encouraging, and stress-free. I can help with tone, fingerings, rhythm, reading music, and building confidence.

My lessons are designed primarily for beginners, but I also tutor intermediate players. If you have prior experience, we’ll start with a short assessment so I can understand your level. From there, I’ll guide you at your own pace until you reach your goals or feel satisfied with your progress.
If you’re completely new to playing, we’ll begin with the basics at your own pace. I’ll teach you using the same song my mom taught me when I was learning, “Go Tell Aunt Rhody.” As you progress at your own pace, we’ll start working on scales at the beginning of each lesson and gradually move on to more challenging songs.
All required items will be sheet music that I can email to you or message to you.
