About Dean

Hi my name is Dean, I am 23 years old and I am currently working as a Financial Accountant in Liverpool. I have just completed my Master's degree in University last year and the constant school work and exams are still fresh in my mind.

I am open to tutoring people of all ages and abilities up to GCSE level in Mathematics. Whether you are struggling with maths, are stressed about upcoming exams or are just looking to find an alternate source of learning, I am here to help with whatever you may need.

I myself have completed GCSE and A-Level Maths and have used Mathematics constantly throughout both my degrees and even now in my career as an accountant. I have almost two years of experience tutoring both 1 to 1 and up to 6 students at once. I have worked for a local tutoring company helping young students in a difficult area of Liverpool improve their future prospects.

I pride myself in adapting to the needs of each individual student and will guarantee that each lesson will prove beneficial, providing you with the necessary tools to face your upcoming academic challenges with the knowledge and confidence required.

About the lesson

I adopt a flexible approach to learning, making use of the relevant curriculum and/or Exam board to work through the topics that students find difficult in particular. If the student is unsure, we can slowly work through all topics together and determine the areas that need strengthening. I use exam relevant questions and methods to ensure that knowledge can be applied in exams with weekly homework/practice to make sure that each topic is understood.

I have most experience tutoring students at GCSE level from ages 13 to 16, but I have prior experience tutoring children from ages 5 to 16.

Lessons will be one hour and will consist of 15 minutes or so of running through homework and addressing any difficulties faced by the student and the rest of the lesson will focus on tackling a new topic or revisiting the same topic if students are finding it particularly difficult. Discussions will be had about current work in school to ensure teaching is not being overlapped to ensure the student is getting the maximum benefit from the session.
