About Hanshika
Hi! I'm a rising sophomore studying Finance at the Rutgers Business School with a strong academic background, a passion for helping students build more confidence in their academics, and, most importantly, a strong affinity for mathematics! Having scored a 690 on the SAT Math section, winning competitions, completing Honors classes (Algebra 2, Precalculus, Geometry), and completing AP-level courses (Calc AB, Calc C, Statistics) math courses myself, I understand the challenges students face and am equipped with strategies to overcome them. While I have gained expertise from taking multiple tests, I have learned even more from tutoring multiple math students and understanding common patterns. I am an encouraging and articulate tutor who works very closely with my students and tries to guide them through problems in a clear and understandable way. I believe every student can improve with consistent practice and a structured plan, and I am here to provide that. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the skills they need to succeed beyond just the classroom.

My lesson plans are personalized to each student's strengths and weaknesses to ensure progress throughout the course.
A typical lesson begins with answering homework questions and reviewing mistakes. This is done in a quick and straightforward manner where the goal is identifying patterns rather than simply correcting answers. After this first 10 minutes, we focus on diving deep into one math concept through guided instruction, worked examples, and targeted practice problems. Throughout the course, students will have a personalized error log to track recurring mistakes, monitor progress, and prevent the same errors from happening again.
Over several weeks, we cover the topics most relevant to each student's goals, including Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Mathematics, and SAT Math. For SAT Math students, we systematically cover every tested topic while incorporating timed practice, strategy, and full-length practice tests to improve both accuracy and pacing. Homework includes short concept-focused practice sets and full-length practice tests, which students submit before each lesson so we can make every session as productive as possible.
What sets me apart is my focus on understanding why mistakes happen and how I cater each lesson plan to the needs of the student. Instead of memorizing formulas or shortcuts, I teach students how to think through math problems step by step, helping them build lasting problem-solving skills and confidence that lead to long-term success both in the classroom and on standardized exams.
