About Gabe

I'm Gabe, a college graduate with a degree in finance. I've worked in corporate finance and investing roles where I've built complex spreadsheets and financial models daily, so I understand how important it is to have strong fundamentals in math and accounting.

I was active in student organizations throughout college, including leadership roles where I helped other students grow confidence in math and accounting concepts.

Outside of academics, I'm a former collegiate rower and stay active with running, skiing, and golf. I believe the patience and consistency that athletics requires applies directly to learning, and think of studying as an exercise for your brain.

Whether you're working through fractions for the first time or preparing for a college finance exam, I'm here to meet you where you are and help you build real confidence in your skills.

About the lesson

I believe the best way to learn is by connecting abstract concepts to real-world applications. My approach focuses on building intuition first, then reinforcing it with practice problems that actually make sense.

A typical session starts with a quick check-in on what's clicking and what's not, followed by working through concepts together using relatable examples. For finance and accounting students, I draw from my professional and educational experience in finance. For math students, I emphasize problem-solving frameworks that reduce the "where do I even start?" feeling.

What sets me apart is that I've recently been in your shoes. I understand what it's like grinding through exams, trying to re-learn confusing concepts, and figuring out how to best approach studying and knowledge retention. I know what trips students up because I've been there.

I keep things conversational, adjust to your learning pace, and focus on building confidence alongside competence.

Who I work with: Middle school through early college students tackling pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, introductory accounting, and corporate finance. Whether you need help with homework, exam prep, or just want concepts explained in plain English, I'm here to help.
