About Liza
Hi! I’m Liza, a final year medical student with a strong passion for both medicine and teaching. I believe learning is most effective when it's engaging and relatable, which is why I use an interactive, case-based learning approach to make complex topics like Biology, Microbiology, and Pathophysiology easier to grasp. Here’s a little bit about me and what I bring to the table: - Experience & Leadership: I’ve worked as the Director of the Medical Education Committee at a neurology student nexus, and I’ve contributed to the Osmosis Medical Education Network, where I helped develop student-driven learning resources. - Research Background: With two case reports and five systematic reviews/meta-analyses under my belt, I have a solid understanding of scientific research and love helping others navigate it too. - Teaching Style: I believe in active learning, where we don’t just memorize facts but apply them to real clinical cases. This way, you'll be ready to tackle not only exams but practical medical scenarios too. - Multilingual: I’m fluent in English, Arabic, and French, so I can make learning comfortable for students from different backgrounds. - Flexible & Online: I offer online tutoring with flexible hours, making it easy to fit lessons around your schedule. I’m here to help you master the material and gain the confidence you need to succeed. Whether you’re preparing for exams or just want to deepen your understanding of various medical subjects, I’m ready to work with you.

As a tutor, my goal is to make complex medical topics like Biology, Microbiology, and Pathophysiology clear and engaging through an interactive, case-based learning approach.
I believe in focusing on real-life medical cases, which helps students apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. My teaching method encourages active participation, where students are not just passive listeners but critical thinkers engaging with the content.
Teaching Methods & Techniques:
- Interactive Learning: I use diagrams, flashcards, and online tools to make learning more visual and dynamic.
- Case-Based Discussions: Each lesson includes a clinical case that illustrates the theory being taught, helping students relate it to real-world scenarios.
- Active Q&A and Problem-Solving: Throughout lessons, I encourage students to ask questions, solve problems, and think critically about the material.
- Step-by-Step Breakdown: I explain concepts from the ground up, making sure foundational knowledge is solid before moving on to advanced topics.
Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Introduction: Brief overview of the topic with a clinical case to introduce the concept.
2. Theory Discussion: Explanation of key concepts with interactive discussions and visual aids.
3. Case Application: Walkthrough a clinical scenario related to the topic to apply the knowledge.
4. Q&A and Review: Open the floor for questions and recap the key takeaways to ensure retention.
What Sets Me Apart:
- My background as the Director of the Medical Education Committee at a neurology student nexus and my work with Osmosis Medical Education Network allows me to bring structured, evidence-based methods to my teaching.
- I offer multilingual tutoring in English and Arabic, making learning more accessible for students from diverse backgrounds.
- I also tailor lessons for exam preparation, ensuring students not only understand the material but excel in their assessments.
Who the Lessons Are For:
- These lessons are ideal for medical students at various levels, particularly those in preclinical years (1st-3rd year), as well as students needing a refresher in Biology, Microbiology, and Pathophysiology.
