About Elena
I am currently in the final year of my Law degree, previously having studied English Literature, Theology and Spanish at A Level. I am available to tutor students from Year 7 to GCSE level in English Literature and English Language. Previously I have worked as a tutor at Explore Learning tutoring students in Maths and English, as well as giving a supplementary course in Creative writing for High School students. In addition, I also tutored two students individually in English Literature and Language in preparation for their GCSE exams.

My approach to teaching is to base it around the needs of the student. I believe that it is vital to understand what a student's strengths and weaknesses are and how to enhance the strengths even further, whilst working to improve the weaknesses. Furthermore, it is my opinion that students learn better when they feel comfortable with the person teaching them, and so I am to develop a relationship of ease and comfort with the students in order for them to feel relaxed enough to be receptive and open about what they struggle with. Most of all I think it's important to make teaching fun and to cultivate a real interest in what is being learnt, rather than focus everything on passing an examination.
