About Michelle
I am a final year BEd(intermediate phase) student at the University of Stellenbosch. My main subjects are English(first language) and Natural Science. My home language is Afrikaans so I can help out with Afrikaans as well. I have been helping home schooled students for the 2 years. I have also have some school teaching experience. I have have a good understanding of the CAPS curriculum.
I am a 3 time Olympiad Chess player and have been coaching private chess lessons for 7 years and provincial chess for 4 years. I have a good understanding of the game and have students that are playing on National level. I can help students learn how to play chess and improve their game.

My subject teaching method is very practical. I let my students do a lot of exercises so that they can get a good understanding of the work. I do not believe in spoon feeding students the work. I also believe that the students have to experience the work if they can.
My chess coaching method is very similar to my teaching method. Lots and lots of exercises and playing a lot of games. I teach chess theory while playing against them so that they can see where they can improve.
