About SUVI

Hi! I am a final-year BSc Information Technology student with a passion for helping high school students master mathematics.

My approach to tutoring is grounded in resilience and proven methods. Halfway through my 2022 Matric prelims, I was hospitalised for a liver transplant, leaving me with a 36% term mark and unable to sit for the end-of-year final NSC exams. Rather than giving up, I used my recovery period to study and write the May/June 2023 supplementary examinations.

Under DBE guidelines, a student's final NSC result is heavily weighted by their internal assessment marks. Because my term 3 mark was so low, achieving a final combined mark of 65% meant my raw performance in the actual supplementary exams had to be well over 70%. I used the strategies that I learnt and currently teach, to make that jump happen.

Having tutored Grade 8-12 students over the past year, I know firsthand that no student is "bad at maths." I bring patience, professionalism, and structured exam techniques to every session-showing students exactly how to overcome anxiety, manage their time, and turn their marks around just like I did.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for Grade 8-12 NSC (DBE) students of all learning levels-whether you are struggling to pass or aiming for a distinction.

My teaching methodology comes from real experience: in Matric, after a health setback left me with a 36% term mark, I used past-paper strategies to bounce back to a 65% final NSC mark (which required scoring well over 70% in the final exams).

As a final-year BSc IT student, I teach those exact, practical, logic-based methods to my students. Rather than just memorising formulas, we focus heavily on past exam papers, time-saving strategies, and mastering the exact formatting methods required to maximise your marks under exam pressure.

In a typical lesson, we break down concepts step-by-step, review exam-style questions, and build your confidence through hands-on practice. All lessons are conducted proficiently in English in a supportive, patient environment.
