About Zane
I have been passionate about STEM and teaching for much of my life. In my undergraduate at Whitman College, I tutored all four years for 7 classes in 4 subjects. I graduated summa cum laude with honors with a B.A. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology, receiving awards for my performance in organic chemistry, as well as my role as a tutor and TA.
While initially pursuing the pre-medical route in undergraduate, my love of science pushed me toward obtaining a Ph.D. and I began at Princeton Chemistry in 2022 with an expected graduation date of May 2027. While in graduate school, I have developed greater experience with a wide array of scientific fields and gained years of mentoring and teaching experience. Along the way, I was awarded by the department for my work with the Organic Chemistry courses.

I believe that the best teachers are ones who can identify the way in which their students learn best. I typically use a combination of verbal and written instructions, as well as hand-picked problem solving questions, and strive to provide a tailored learning curve for each student. My goal is to help each student become more confident in the material and learn how to learn in their class so that they can be successful both during our tutoring sessions and after they complete their class and/or time working with me.
My lessons can cover all fields of chemistry, as well as microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, mathematics, and general physics.
I'm happy to discuss any student's needs and find a way that I can help them best succeed.
