About Fernanda

Hello! I’m Fernanda – geophysicist, currently studying a Master's in Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Reading. I’ve always been passionate about science, but even more passionate about sharing it. I started teaching when I was 14, and over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with students of all ages — from schoolchildren to university undergraduates, including three full modules in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Concepción. I believe science is not just about facts and formulas — it’s about understanding the world and learning how to think. That’s what I bring to every lesson: clarity, curiosity, and confidence. I've also worked as a science communicator for 5 years, where I acquired experience in making complex topics simple, engaging and fun. As a trilingual woman in STEM (English, Spanish and French), I love creating inclusive, warm, and motivating learning spaces where students feel heard and supported. Teaching is not just something I do — it’s a part of who I am, and I plan to keep growing as an educator through research and future doctoral studies.

About the lesson

My approach is kind, clear, and always adapted to each student’s needs. I focus on helping them truly understand — not just memorise — by using diagrams, real-life examples and guiding questions that spark curiosity and build confidence. Lessons are usually 1 hour, but I’m flexible depending on the goal. I have taught maths and physics in both schools and universities, and I have 5 years of experience as a science communicator, which helps me turn complex topics into something simple, engaging and even fun. I work with curious minds of all ages — from school pupils to university students — in Maths, Physics, Earth Sciences and Programming. I teach in English, Spanish and French, and I’m here to make learning meaningful and empowering.
