About Callie
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance and have 4 years of experience teaching students at beginner and intermediate levels. My academic training included solo performance preparation, ensemble collaboration, and detailed music study. These experiences helped me understand the importance of both technical accuracy and emotional interpretation. Throughout my teaching career, I have guided learners preparing for school recitals, examinations, and personal goals.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience, organization, and steady progress. I believe students grow best when lessons are structured and goals are clearly defined. Many learners appreciate my calm explanations and step-by-step demonstrations. I carefully adjust lesson plans based on each student’s strengths and challenges. Building confidence alongside technical skill remains a key part of my approach.
Beyond teaching, I continue practicing advanced repertoire and refining my technique. Ongoing learning allows me to maintain high standards in instruction. My piano lessons focus on developing strong fundamentals while encouraging musical creativity. We begin with correct sitting posture, relaxed wrist alignment, and proper finger positioning to create a balanced foundation. I guide students through scale exercises and finger drills that improve coordination and hand independence. Rhythm practice includes counting methods and steady tempo exercises to strengthen timing accuracy. Each lesson starts with structured warm-ups to prepare the hands and increase focus before working on repertoire. I explain musical ideas in simple language so students clearly understand how technique connects with expression.
As learners improve, we work on arpeggios, dynamic control, and pedal technique. I break larger pieces into smaller sections to build accuracy and confidence step by step. Music theory concepts are introduced gradually to support deeper understanding of harmony and structure. Performance preparation includes practicing full pieces without interruption to improve concentration and stage readiness. Clear home practice plans are provided to encourage steady improvement between sessions.
My goal is to help students become confident and expressive pianists. I offer supportive and detailed feedback so learners understand both strengths and areas for growth. Over time, students develop stronger finger control, improved tone quality, and better musical awareness. I aim to create balanced lessons that combine discipline with enjoyment of piano music.
