About Ahmad

I am a PhD-qualified Professor of Mechanical Engineering with over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and engineering practice. Throughout my academic career, I have taught and mentored students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervised research projects, and consistently achieved high teaching evaluations. My experience also includes working on real-world engineering and sustainable energy projects, which allows me to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications.

I take a professional and student-focused approach to tutoring. I prepare each session carefully, ensure clear and structured explanations, and adapt my teaching style to suit the individual needs of each student. I place strong emphasis on conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and exam preparation, so that students not only improve their grades but also develop confidence in the subject.

Students can expect a reliable, supportive, and well-organised learning environment, where questions are encouraged and progress is monitored. My aim is to help students achieve their academic goals while building a solid foundation for future studies and professional development.

About the lesson

I am a PhD-qualified Mechanical Engineer and Professor with over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and engineering practice. My background is in computational mechanics, engineering design, and advanced manufacturing, and I have taught a wide range of subjects including mathematics, physics, thermodynamics, and engineering analysis at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

I have a strong interest in helping students build clear conceptual understanding, especially in subjects that are often considered difficult. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple steps and guiding students to solve problems with confidence. My teaching approach is patient and structured, and I try to adapt to each student’s learning style.

Beyond teaching, I have been involved in research and industry projects related to sustainable engineering and renewable energy systems, which also shapes my practical approach to explaining concepts. I am currently based in Edinburgh and continue my research work alongside tutoring.
